Let's serve together!

Here at Warlicks Baptist Church, we have many kingdom opportunities for you to dive right in to! Let us help you find where you would like to serve and see God use you by taking a look at the various ministries we offer here! We are a church that is dedicated to the furthering of God's kingdom and reaching out as the hands and feet for the Lord Jesus!

Kid's Ministry

Hey I’m John the family pastor here at Warlicks.  I’ve been at Warlicks for over 16 years and have worked in ministry for more than 30 years.  We have a great group of kids here and I enjoy working with them.  We have a number of things we do:

  • Kidsized ~ is our children’s church program that runs with our adult service.

  • Teamkids ~ is our Wednesday evening program for kids.

  • We do a Spring fling activity at Easter time.

  • We have our annual fall festival around Halloween.

  • We have a week of summer camp each year at South Mountain Baptist Camp.

  • We have a Family Fun Night the fifth Sunday evening.  It’s a  time of food, fun, and games.

We invite you to join us.

student Ministry

Our vision at Warlicks Student Ministry is to impact the kingdom through discipling and developing Christ-centered relationships.  Carl and Ashlei Lowman (Sunday Mornings) along with Lonny and Michelle Hildebran (Wednesday Nights) serve together as Student Leaders to help and teach Students through God's Word and give them the tools they need to not only learn more about Christ and become stronger disciples, but to share that with the world around us.

Handyman Ministry

Warlick's Baptist Church Handymen ministry was initially organized by the late Leonard Ledford, who was active with Habitat and various Baptist mission projects. He and the late John Deal led the original group of Warlick's men.

The group continues under the leadership of Jim Adams and operates in conjunction with Foothills Service Project, a non-profit organization of Burke County.

The mission of the group is serving God by repairing or building decks and ramps providing freedom and mobility to those who otherwise would be confined to their homes.

The group is always open to new members who want to help those in need.

School Backpack ministry

Our school backpack program began in 2013 as the senior project of Michaela Jolly, daughter of Associate Pastor John Jolly.  She was made aware of the need of children in our immediate area and all around the nation that did not have access to food once they left school and over the weekends. The School Backpack Program provides nutritious, non-perishable, easy-to-prepare food to children to ensure they get enough food on weekends and holidays to avoid hunger when they can't depend on school meals. It is completely supported by the generous donations of funds from church members and friends.

Operation Christmas child/samaritan's purse

Since 1993, Samaritans Purse has collected more than 209 million shoe boxes and sent them to more than 170 countries.  These boxes have some of the most basic needs that we may take for granted along with the Gospel of Christ.

We at Warlicks Baptist Church have been blessed to be a part of this amazing ministry for over 20 plus years.  Click the icon to the left to be directed to Samaritans Purse website for more information, drop off locations and much more.

Appalachian backpack ministry

NC Baptists on Missions, Appalachian Backpacks Mission, focuses on the impoverished Appalachian coal mine areas- specifically in the states of NC, VA, TN, KY & WV.

The Appalachian Backpacks serves the physical and spiritual needs of children in these areas at Christmas by providing backpacks filled with canned food items, candy, toys, clothing items and an age appropriate Bible to be handed out in the weeks before Christmas.

Their goal this year is to give out 21,000 backpacks to children in need in those areas!
